THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly analytical Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join our team. In this newly created role you will be working cross-functionally and with senior management to create financial analysis and planning visibility to support key business decisions.
You should have a proactive and naturally inquisitive nature, with an analytical, finance, and business centric ethos. A keen and quick eye – both to detail / data integrity, as well as an ability to spot the wider story is vital.
Key responsibilities for the role include:
Financial Planning & Forecasting:
+ Lead the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
+ Provide insights into key revenue drivers and cost components, including product margins, customer acquisition, and key subscription metrics.
+ Manage rolling forecasts and scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Performance Analysis:
+ Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, pricing, margin, and profitability analysis across product lines, customer segments and sales channels.
+ Identify trends and opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and revenue growth.
Business Partnering:
+ Collaborate across the business to provide financial insights that influence business strategy and decision-making.
+ Support the Finance Director by preparing ad hoc reports, business cases, and presenting key findings to drive data-driven decisions.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
+ Work with the Financial Controller on the monthly financial reporting process, delivering timely and accurate Profit & Loss (P&L), cash flow, and balance sheet analysis.
+ Leverage data analytics tools to generate actionable insights and enhance reporting efficiency.
Environmental, Social & Governance:
+ Support the business’ ambition to remain and improve our B-Corp credentials, providing support as required to ensure all information, policies and procedures are up to date and in-line with the ESG and B-Corp requirements. This relates to all current and prospective suppliers, partners and vendors or, where appropriate packaging and/or ingredients requirements and standards.
+ Support the business in relation to documenting goals and targets, monitoring progress and assisting in providing ESG Reports as required.
+ Be proactive in terms of suggestions and ideas for the business to improve its practices in relation to ESG.
+ Be mindful during each task as to the ethos and vision of the company and the goals and requirements in terms of our ESG ambition.
Process Optimisation:
+ Improve and streamline financial processes, systems, and reporting tools, ensuring alignment with evolving business needs.
+ Lead initiatives to enhance forecasting accuracy, budgeting discipline, and data visibility across departments.
WHO YOU ARE
To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills / knowledge / experience:
+ Qualified accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
+ Experienced in financial planning and analysis, with a focus on Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or subscription-based businesses.
+ Extensive financial modelling and forecasting experience, with a proven track record in providing financial insights that drive growth.
+ Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
+ Strong experience of P&L management, product costing, and financial metrics specific to FMCG or subscription businesses (Customer Lifetime Value (CLV), churn, retention, etc.).
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence non-financial stakeholders and able to convey information clearly and concisely
+Highly self-motivated with an ability to take initiative and run with it. Solution focused with a ‘can-do’ attitude and a strong work ethic.
+ Known for having a positive outlook and a growth mindset.
+ A collaborative team player who also excels in independent settings.
+ Detail-oriented. Able and willing to work in a fast paced scale-up environment that is often full of ambiguity - an ability to effectively prioritise will be key.
+ Passionate about doing greater good and the future we’re building - we expect our team to be supporting our B-Corp and ESG goals while being proactive and mindful in suggesting ideas for the business to improve its practices.
