THE ROLE
Video is critical to success in todays paid media environment and we’re delighted to be creating our first in house role dedicated to this incredibly important work.
This individual will be a part of a small but mighty performance creative team and will cut the short-form video that runs across Meta now and TikTok over time: this will include creator and UGC footage, product work, internal expert pieces and EGC as well as studio shoots and archive. You will work from briefs set by our Performance Creative Strategist and alongside a Social Graphic Designer, in a small team dedicated to incredible paid advertising, producing work at pace and quality.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Cut for performance
Edit short-form video for paid social: hooks, pacing, captions, sound design, colour, versioning
Build multiple distinct cuts from the same source material, meaning one shoot or one creator asset can work across several angles and audiences as we develop for different needs and optimise at pace
Recut and refresh live assets as performance data comes in, making small and wholesale changes as needed to deliver incremental performance
Deliver to spec across placements and formats whilst remaining high quality and on brand at all times
Find the opportunity in broad material
You’ll watch everything that comes in, from creators, shoots, community content and the archive, and know what we have so that when the brief comes you have the perfect pieces at your finger tips
Bring editing ideas back to the Performance Creative Strategist and Art Director that build on the briefs you have and which enable us to step into new territories
Use AI tools thoughtfully and where relevant, for versioning, subtitling, rough assembly and clean-up without losing the human touch that we’re loved for
Work in an organised way and use the filing systems defined to ensure a searchable library where good footage does not get lost
Work as part of a tight high performing team
Sit with the Performance Creative Strategist through briefing and review so edit are shaped brilliantly to align to the brief and the opportunity.
Work with the Social Graphic Designer so motion and statics support each other- building on each others ideas and supporting each other to be greater than the sum of your parts
Take craft and brand direction from the Creative Director and Art Director to ensure all assets remain on brand and on target
Support the wider creative team on brand and campaign content when the calendar allows it
Capture, where it helps
Competently and autonomously self-shoot simple product, texture and talking-head content when a brief needs footage that we do not already have
Direct experts, colleagues and creators on camera with confidence generating quality assets efficiently.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Your background
Proven experience shooting and editing short-form video for paid social at volume, with a reel that shows the work and, ideally, what it delivered
Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite and After Effects, or equivalent as well as using a range of AI programmes with an ever growing curiosity as to what is possible.
Genuine understanding of what makes video perform on Meta and TikTok: the first second, the hook, retention, captions, sound off and sound on
Experience turning source material into a large number of distinct assets
Comfortable with basic capture: camera, lighting and sound to a good standard on a self-shoot setup
DTC brand experience, ideally wellness, beauty, supplements or food and drink
Who you are
Fast, and good. You have a workflow that lets you deliver volume whilst maintaining quality. You’re as passionate about the brands you work with as you are the performance of the ads and you balance these things at all times.
Curious about the numbers. You want to know how assets performed and you use what you learn to make your next work better
You spot opportunities naturally. Given a folder of rushes you come out with ideas beyond briefs and try new things to see what might work
Comfortable with daily feedback in a small team where everything is seen by everyone
Organised with media, files and versions
You like pace, change and a constant stream of deliverables, you thrive in volume with an active creative mind and you're always excited about the next asset.
Further, to truly thrive at Ancient + Brave you will need to embody the spirit of our brand and align with our company culture. For us that is a series of shared beliefs:
